Bold Action Platform for Working Families
“During this COVID-19 crisis many jobsites have been deemed essential and critical. If you are called to work you should report to the job as usual. If you decline work the employer can deny your unemployment. The employers and GC’s have a responsibility to ensure the jobsites are safe and meet NYS standards for COVID-19 safety. Only when you report to work and see that a jobsite isn’t safe can you decline work without the risk of losing your unemployment. If you report to a jobsite that isn’t safe, document it (photos, etc) and contact your employer and your union representative to let them know ASAP. ”
